West End Print Shop understands that before submitting a print job, there are questions that come to mind about one thing or another. We have tried our best to answer the most frequently asked questions from our customers to assist them in submitting the highest quality print job.
Q. How can I place an order?
A. Email us the front and back of your files. On the email please write exactly what you are looking to print (Size, Quantity, Finish etc.). Please leave us your contact information to call you. A WEPS representative will then call you to grab a credit card over the phone. Submit File: JPG at 300 DPI, CMYK Color Actual Size
Q. Can I split a order into two jobs?
A. Unfortunately each file you submit will be printed the same number of times. Please be sure to specify the quantities needed in each job submission email.
Q. What is 4/0 and 4/4?
A. 4/0 Full Color front, white on the back • 4/4 means full color 2 both sides. The number 4 represents 4 colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) that make your order.
Q. What is UV Coating? What is Glossy?
A. UV Coating is a thin film that is applied to your order to give a shiny gloss. You may write on UV Coating with a Sharpie or nice pen but most pens wont work. Our normal card stock is considered "Glossy" because it has a small shine to the paper itself. If you need to write on your order or mail your orders, we suggest you ask for the NON UV or GLOSSY finish.
Q. What is a Die Cut?
A. A Die cut is a custom flyer cut out as a specific shape. Please note a die design must be very simple in order for us to cut out. If you have any questions on your shape please email: info@westendprintshop.com and we will to make sure the shape can be used.

A. JPEG, TIF, PDF, PSD (Flat Files). We also accept files in MS Word, ADOBE Printshop, Print Shop, Corel Draw, and MS Publisher, please be sure to call if you have a different software program you are designing in. If a file is submitted as an PDF or PSD, West End Print Shop is not responsible for missing or embedded fonts, missing logos and anything that has been alternated by the time it is received. Please remember we do not know how your order appears until we receive it or unless we have a color proof in our hands of your job. If you are unsure and would like to see a digital proof of your jobs, simply ask us and we will submit one to you for approval.
Q. How do you follow up with me?
A. In order for us to expedite your order you need to give us your daytime and evening phone numbers at the time you place your order. If you are on a tight deadline and looking for quick turnaround, it is also a good idea to give us the name and phone number of someone else who can speak knowledgeably, answer questions, and make decisions about your job.
Q. Will my job print exactly like it is on the screen?
A. No job can be guranteed to print 100% of what is on your computer screen, as resolutions on a screen can vary greatly in print. Orders are considerably consistent in color but they must be designed from scratch at CMYK Color and NOT RGB. Some people design in LED monitors which may look different from Plasma or Tube monitors. Please note we are not looking at a monitor while your order is printing with multiple jobs. The rule is the setting you input for that design will be the output of the product. Variation in color may occur when colored jobs land next to your order which is random in a large print run.
Q. What are my responsibilities concerning proofing?
A. We do not proof any jobs. By the time the job is emailed to us, all edits should be final. You are responsible for ensuring all telephone numbers are correct, sending proofs to your clients, addresses, resolutions, format, sizes and more. Before submitting your job please make sure the copy has been pre-approved. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR PROOFING ANY SUBMITTED JOBS.
Q.What do I need to do if my job is color critical?
A. If your job is color critical, you MUST ORDER A COLOR PROOF at the time of your order. If a color proof is not ordered, we are not responsible for any color variations from your monitor to our presses. We cannot stress this enough, color variations will occur, if you need to attain perfect color on your job it can only be achieved by a color proof. Additional charges may occur.
Q.How do I cancel a job or make a change to an order that is already in progress?
A. Due to the nature of our turn around, we process jobs as soon as they are received. If you need to cancel an order you have placed, you must call and speak to a West End Print Shop Representative only (No email Cancellations). If you have a replacement file you must first call and speak to a West End Print Shop Representative. If we can catch the job before it goes to print, we will be more than happy to cancel it or have you send the replacement file, but if the job is already plated and scheduled for production, you are responsible for full payment.
Q. If I need help with my flyer or print job what can I do?
A. You have several options available to you. 1) you can contact our design department and coordinate/arrange for custom design services for your print job. 2) you can access some of our online resources, such as the templates section. Either way, you're likely to find what you need. If in doubt, give us a call and we will help you in achieving the best file possible for printing.
Q. Should I put a border on my flyer?
A. We do not recommend border or any of the designs. Orders are printed daily within 24 hours which may vary in how the jobs are cut. Some borders may come out exact and some may not. Borders are only used as a last alternative for when your words are going to be cut. We sometimes ask the client if they would like a border so that the border gets cut instead of the words. There is no extra charge to add a border but you must request it.
Q. What is the minimum resolution?
A. All files must be submitted at a minimum 300 Resolution. Please note that the file must be created from scratch at 300 Resolution for it to print sharp. If the files is designed for example at 150 DPI Resolution and then converted to 300 DPI, your file will maintain the sharpness of the 150. Larger resolution files can be lowered in resolution but smaller files cannot be resized.
